Cary’s Meadow Fairy Door Trail
Our members designed and created the doors for an interactive fairy door trail as part of Natural Wonder – a project curated by writer Ruthie Collins, to celebrate our connection with the natural world. The doors will be in situ at Broads Authority Park Cary’s Meadow until Summer 2022 alongside a rolling programme of nature inspired writing by local children.
The doors represent the first member makings created at our workshops after a prolonged period of closure due to the pandemic. This project provided the opportunity for members to be part of a community project while working individually and safely. Our members really engaged with this project and created a fantastic collection of fairy doors that reflect the skills and interests of our varied membership.
We are grateful for funding from The National Lottery Local Connections Fund that enabled us to run workshop sessions within a Covid-safe environment – this funding programme ran in 2021 with the aim of helping communities feel more connected when coming out of lockdown restrictions.
